The PowerLink has a standard 30-pin dock connector and serves as an emergency external battery pack for an iPod or iPhone. On a drained iPhone it will actually add an 1 hour of talk time–more than enough to call a tow truck or emergency service in a time of need. The built in USB connector allows it to be used as a syncing and charging device when connected to your Mac (this is also how you charge the PowerLink itself).
